Action
Plus Sports Images is based in London, close to Farringdon
station/Holborn Circus. A small, but vibrant creative company with
both an Editorial Sports News and Commercial stock photography
business, we often have openings for new positions.

Volunteer
Position(s)
As part of a recent expansion of our digital
library and the launch of a new image collection, we have a vacancy
for a Volunteer (non paid) program based in Saffron Hill, London, EC1
(near Farringdon tube station).
Description of activities
performed:
Editing our negatives
library for content across a range of criteria
Scanning
& retouching images from selected negatives
Handling
incoming photography submissions, including categorising,
retouching, keywording, captioning and loading to our website
Assisting
in asset retrieval and client requests.
The
Candidate(s): You will be technically minded and have an eye
for detail, a good visual sense, and have sound research/written
skills. You will also be organised and able to plan your own tasks;
comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
Photoshop expertise will be a plus and computer familiarity
essential.
This position is suitable for a photographic or
visual creative student who is keen to get real life work experience
in a picture library of a sporting nature, and who is keen to build a
portfolio of their specific experience.
Duration: Three
- Four months – beginning mid January 2010 (negotiable) Weekly
Hours: To fit in with your other commitments, but the more hours put
in, the more experience you will get from the program.
This is
an unpaid position but the experience gained will be invaluable for
future positions in our industry and is an excellent opportunity to
gain valuable experience in one of the UK's leading sports image
production agencies. You should live in or close to central London
for ease of travel.
